I got a book of Raymond Carver’s stories from the library today, and I totally love it. Minimalism is my writing style, but I never knew it was “okay.” I love how he doesn’t beat you over the head with the ending, how he doesn’t hold your hand through the story. He just tells you what you need to know, and you fill in the rest. You figure out what he meant. That is so awesome, because he tells you just enough. Dylan Thomas’ stuff is a bit like that too.
