   hur. that’s ww2. the japs bombed pearl harbour. the germans were busy pissing in their the neighbour’s backyard.

   i think ww1 is where some austrain duke got assasinated. that’s what sparked it off. but it was a burning fuse before that. many reasons. cant remember. this country not happy with that. usual story, morning glory.

   Basically a Serbian anarchist assassinated the heir to the Austrio-Hungarian throne. My comparison stems from the fact that Serbia was very quick to find the assassin and hand him over to Austrio-Hungary, but they declared war anyway.

   There were a lot of factors that caused them to declare war in addition to the assassination, some of which can be seen in our current circumstances. What is interesting to me is that this situation has elements of the causes of WWI and the causes for our involvement in WWII.
