I really want to make a website. I have several, and even a domain name I bought last year, but no real sites. The problem is I have nothing interesting to say. I don’t let that stop me here (to the great chagrin of all those who friended me), but a website is more static in a way. If I say something boring and short here, it will be out of sight in a few hours. It probably won’t damn my journal to obscurity, but putting the same drivel on an independent website would be a waste of time. The only reason to have a website is to show people your unique content. Otherwise you have a hit counter that only says 56 because thats how many times you’ve reloaded the page to see if the hit counter has gone up.

Perhaps I should make a website anyway, with just boring information about me. Why not? Everyone else does it, right? The internet is a megaphone so loud it can reach the ears of the entire planet. Everyone gets a turn, and those with nothing to say will just make random noises because they can.

Anyway, I think I’m the only techie in the world without a website. I pay for tapdancinggoats.org, I might as well get some use out of it beyond mail. I shouldn’t care whether or not anybody looks at my website.
